Rehau has launched Relazzo, a decking system that combines the natural look and feel of wood with the durability and weather resistance of modern polymers

The system is made from Rauwood, a wood polymer composite that comprises natural wood fibres from sustainably managed European forests combined with a polymer. Rehau says that it has the appearance and feel of wood, but unlike timber decking, it will not split or warp. The decking system also resists the growth of fungus and requires only minimal maintenance, says the company.

Relazzo’s strength and surface hardness mean it can be used in damp or exposed areas. Each board comes with a subtle groove on one side and a ridged surface on the other. These are interchangeable to allow for creative design schemes and are available in six timber-effect finishes: dark brown (Terra), mid brown (Ambra), light brown (Sabbia or Grano), red brown (Ametista) or grey (Ciottolo).

The complete Relazzo system also includes pre-sized substructure joists, fixing brackets, end caps and trims. The distances between the boards are predetermined by the brackets, which makes the system quick and easy to construct. The end caps are colour-matched or, for a more contemporary finish, users can choose aluminium trims.
