Former president to deliver keynote speech at environmental conference in Chicago in November
Bill Clinton is to deliver the keynote speech at a conference addressing environmental issues. The former President will speak to more than 20,000 people in Chicago at Greenbuild, a three day event organised by The U.S. Green 好色先生TV Council (USGBC).
鈥淭his is an unprecedented opportunity for our green building community to hear from one of the greatest philanthropic and environmental leaders of this century,鈥 said the President of USGBC, Rick Fedrizzi. The USGBC is a non-profit organisation which composes more than 10,500 bodies, working together to transform the building industry.
Clinton has demonstrated a long term commitment to environmental issues and last year launched the Clinton Foundation Climate Initiative which looks at ways of fighting climate change. 鈥淧resident Clinton鈥檚 unique ability to inspire individual action will add incredible momentum to this important work,鈥 Fedrizzi said.
Clinton will deliver the opening speech at the event in November which is expected to attract people from all over the world. Guests will be able to take part in educational sessions; workshops and hands on training; local green building tours; and networking events. Other guest speakers contributing to the event are author, Bill Hawken and architect and urban planner, Jaime Lerner from Brazil.
