Administrators said an attempt to find a buyer had been unsuccessful
Civil engineering contractor Moulding Contracts has gone into administration with the loss of 90 jobs.
The firm had a turnover of 拢18m and operated from bases in Greater Manchester, County Durham and Oxfordshire.
The High Court in Manchester has appointed Mark Getliffe and Diane Hill, of chartered accountants CLB Coopers as joint administrators.
CLB Coopers said a process to find a buyer and additional funding support for Moulding Contracts has not been successful.
The employees affected include ground-workers, site agents, site engineers, and plant operators.
Joint administrator Mark Getliffe said: 鈥淢oulding Contracts will complete some specific contracts but there is no prospect of it continuing to trade as a going concern. The workforce was already in a redundancy consultation.鈥�
Getliffe added that there is 鈥渆very prospect of creditors being paid a distribution.鈥�
He said: 鈥淭he expectation is that we will be able to distribute funds back to creditors in 2017. A plan has been agreed to effect this and creditors will be consulted early in the New Year.鈥�
