The Construction Industry Council has called for a new government to create a full-time construction minister after the election
In its 鈥渆lection manifesto鈥, the CIC also demanded that the chief construction adviser be given a fully resourced office to achieve a 鈥渏oined up鈥 approach in supporting housing, education, health, infrastructure and carbon reduction programmes.
The pleas form part of 10 key points which the CIC said must be achieved if the construction industry is to aid in the delivery of a low carbon economy.
Other goals include 鈥渟peed and fairness in the planning system at all levels鈥, and cutting all site fatalities.
