The former project director of the 拢400m BBC Broadcasting House building, Chris Evans, died of cancer this week, aged 43.
Evans took over the scheme, which was designed by MacCormac Jamieson Prichard, in 2001 after helping to put the White City studios back in shape after a bomb attack.

The finance and property director of the BBC, John Smith, paid tribute to Evans. He said: "Six feet 11 inches in his stockinged feet, Chris was never an easy man to overlook. Few who met him forgot him 鈥� and not only for his height but also his engagement, his common touch, his infectious enthusiasm, drive and good humour.

"Chris gave the Broadcasting House building its blueprint, its management vision and charted it through its obstacle-ridden inception process, achieving approval from Westminster city council in record time."
