Contract notice for development partner out in November

Chester university is looking for a new development partner to help deliver a £100m science park project.

The university is looking to carry out further commercial development and ongoing estate management at the 25ha Thornton Science Park (pictured) off the M56 to the north of the city.

Consultant Cushman & Wakefield is supporting the university on the project.

Plans for the site show potential for an additional 400,000ft2 of commercial floorspace with target sectors including energy and environmental industries, automotive and advanced manufacturing.

According to a published on the Official Journal, the university will run an open day for any prospective development partners to outline its vision for the site.

A contract notice for the job is expected to be published in the first week of November.

Thornton Science Park includes laboratories, industrial facilities, computer suites and a library.
