Programme includes restoring existing station and building transport and retail concourses

Carillion has won a 拢360m five-year deal from the city of Toronto for the revitalisation of the city's Union Station.

Carillion Canada will act as construction manager on the scheme and said its business in the country would grow further on the back of last year鈥檚 acquisition of Vanbots Group and its growing strength in the PPP projects and road maintenance markets.

The construction programme will include restoration of heritage features in the existing station, the construction of a new upper-level transport concourse and of a retail concourse beneath the station.

Carillion chief executive John McDonough said: 鈥淲e are delighted to have been selected by the city of Toronto to deliver this prestigious project, which further reinforces Carillion Canada's reputation for delivering high-quality projects through integrating its wide range of skills and resources."
