Joint venture contract is for construction of largest residential complex in Dubai at Motor City
Support services giant Carillion has won a contract worth £200m in the Middle East.
The contract, secured by the company through its Middle East joint venture, Al Futtaim Carillion, is for the construction of the largest residential complex in Dubai.
The development will be part of the Motor City project and will be known as Uptown area 2. It will include 34 residential properties of between three, four and six stories.
Al Futtaim Carillion will start work on Uptown Area 2 this month and the work is expected to be completed by May 2009.
Commenting on the win, Carillion chief executive John McDonough, said: "The award of this prestigious contract further underlines Al Futtaim Carillion as one of the Middle East's leading construction companies. Motor City Uptown Area 2 continues the successful relationship we have built up with Union Properties on previous contracts including the nearby Dubai Autodrome."
