Contractor secures two academy schemes in Basildon and new student halls at Aston University
Contractor Carillion has secured two education contracts worth around 拢100m in Essex and Birmingham, it announced today.
The firm has won a 拢57m contract from Aston University to build student accommodation in Birmingham. The scheme includes 1,307 student rooms on the main university campus, and is due to be completed by August 2010.
Carillion has also been named preferred bidder for the 拢42m Basildon Academies contract by Essex County Council, which includes refurbishment and new-build work for two secondary schools in Basildon.
The first school is due to be completed by December 2009 and the second by December 2011.
