Centrepiece of east London development will be 33-storey block
Plans to build a 33-storey tower at Canning Town in east London have been given the green light by Newham council.
The Manor Road masterplan will include 800 homes and is being masterminded by the English Cities Fund, a joint venture between Morgan Sindall鈥檚 developments arm, Muse, Homes England and finance giant Legal & General.
The 33-storey tower is part of the first phase of work and will include 355 homes. Communal residential gardens will be built at the base along with retail and workspace units.
Designed by EPR Architects, others working on the scheme include townscape and transport consultant WSP and landscape consultant Churchman.
EPR said it has just started the detailed design work, adding that no contractor has yet been appointed.
