Midlands firm goes under after over 50 years of trading
Midlands aggregates firm C&G Concrete has fallen into administration after over 50 years of trading.
The concrete and mortar producer was dragged under by challenging trading conditions and adverse weather conditions during the winter months of 2010, administrator Pricewaterhouse Coopers said.
Other parts of the group including FH Gilman & Co are unaffected by the appointment.
Joint administrators Eddie Williams and Matthew Hammond will now look to find a buyer for the business.
Williams said: 鈥淐 & G is a well known business within its local markets with a strong reputation for quality and service, which was making significant progress in terms of its performance.
鈥淭here have already been a number of serious expressions of interest in the business and our main priority now will be to quickly progress these interested parties plus other potential acquirers to the completion of a sale of the business.
鈥淚n looking to achieve a sale, it will be critical that we retain the ongoing support of both the employees and the suppliers to the business.鈥
