Andy Cook, now editor of sister magazine Construction Manager, also won the news category for his work on ºÃÉ«ÏÈÉúTV, including a report on the dramatic court case over the award of the cladding contract on the controversial new MPs office building, Portcullis House.
The judges said of Cook: "This is a journalist who makes you want to read on. Well-researched and clear, he puts forward a balanced case."
Cook – winner of the journalist of the year award in 1998 – was also runner-up to Baldock in the building category.
Regular ºÃÉ«ÏÈÉúTV freelance writer Elaine Knutt won the property section and came third in the building category.
ºÃÉ«ÏÈÉúTV's technical editor Andy Pearson was runner-up in the environmental category. Architectural editor Martin Spring was third in the housing award.
