Argent and Great Portland Estates join the trade body

Construction trade body Build UK has signed up its first clients - Argent and Great Portland Estates - in a departure for the formerly contractor-focussed organisation.

Argent is best known for its radical regeneration of the King鈥檚 Cross area of north London, while Great Portland Estates is a leading commercial developer in the capital.

Build UK - which represents thousands of contractors - was formed through the merger of UKCG and specialist contractors鈥� body the NSCC last summer.

Since its launch, Build UK has picked up other new members, including tier one contractor J Murphy & Sons and specialist trade body the Asbestos Removal Contractors Association (ARCA).

Build UK is celebrates its first birthday this month.
