Chief operating officer Paul Brown to lead recovery after 44% profit slump
John Sisk鈥檚 UK chief operating officer Paul Brown has been named as the firm鈥檚 new chief executive.
He will take over from Steve Bowcott, a former managing director of Amec鈥檚 construction arm, at the beginning of next year after being in the role more than six years.
Brown was appointed chief operating officer in January last year. Before this he held the role of civils managing director for nearly five years, following a year-long stint as managing director of Warbeck Engineering and Construction.
From 2006 to 2013, he was managing director of Balfour Beatty鈥檚 North West delivery unit.
Sisk鈥檚 latest accounts, filed in July, showed the firm suffered a 44% hit to its pre-tax profit in the 12 months to December 2020 with turnover down 7% to 拢390m.
In the accounts, it said it had a strong order book for 2021 and a 鈥済ood line of sight鈥 on work for this current year.
