Former chief of Barclays Commercial Bank will take up new post in January
The former boss of Barclays Commercial Bank, Chris Grigg, has been named chief executive of British Land.
Grigg, who is 49, will take up the post on 12 January, the firm said. He replaces Stephen Hester, who took the top job at the Royal Bank of Scotland Group following Fred Goodwin's departure.
Chris Gibson-Smith, executive chairman of British Land, said: 鈥淐hris Grigg was chosen as new chief executive officer after an extensive selection process which considered candidates with both property and non property backgrounds.
鈥淗e brings deep knowledge of the investment and financial sectors from his time at Goldman Sachs and wide management experience from his roles at Barclays.鈥
Grigg said : 鈥淚 am enormously enthusiastic about the challenges that lie ahead and the opportunities they provide for British Land.鈥
