Bovis Lend Lease has emerged as the favourite to win the 拢200m Broadcasting House scheme from the BBC.
Market insiders said Bovis has edged in front of Schal for the high-profile construction management deal. One source said: 鈥淚t looks like it鈥檚 going Bovis鈥 way.鈥

The BBC, which has yet to confirm the appointment, originally planned to decide between the two in the summer. Then, in September, it said it would decide on the winner in the autumn.

Sources claimed that the decision had been slowed down as a result of continuing negotiations between the BBC and Land Securities Trillium. The developer already owns the rest of the broadcaster鈥檚 London property portfolio and is expected to take over the MacCormac Jamieson Prichard-designed Broadcasting House redevelopment.

Bovis and Schal emerged from a shortlist of five earlier in the summer. The scheme received planning permission in June.

The newly developed Portland Place will be home to BBC Radio and Music, BBC World Service and BBC 好色先生TV. It will include a public arcade linking Portland Place and Hallam Street.
