Contractor鈥檚 拢510m of work last month pushes it up to second in annual league, above Laing O鈥橰ourke
Two huge contracts secured the top spot for Bovis Lend Lease in September鈥檚 monthly contractors鈥 league, and pushed it into second place in the rolling annual league, forcing Laing O鈥橰ourke down one place into third.
Bovis made it to the top in September after winning 拢510m of work from a combination of private and public sector clients. The biggest win was a 拢300m contract to build Park Place shopping centre in Croydon, awarded by a joint venture of developer Minerva and Bovis鈥 Australian parent Lend Lease.
It also won a 拢200m 25-year PFI contract to handle and recycle waste for 15 local authorities on Lancashire.
The wins were not enough however to knock Balfour Beatty off the number one position in the annual league. The contractor has won deals worth more than 拢3.8bn in the past 12 months, almost 拢1.5bn more than its nearest competitor.
