French contractor makes first major UK acquisition in deal that will double its UK turnover
French construction giant Bouygues has bought Warings in its first major acquisition in the UK.
ºÃÉ«ÏÈÉúTV revealed in July that Bouygues was in talks to acquire the Portsmouth-based contractor, which has a turnover of more than £100m. The deal, which will increase Bouygues’ presence in the UK market, will double Bougyues’ UK turnover.
It is understood that Bougyues, which is keen to expand in the UK, was attracted to Warings partly due to its relationship with BAA. Warings has worked for the client at Heathrow, Gatwick and Southampton.
Warings is Bouygues Construction’s fourth acquisition in the UK, following David Webster Limited, a street lighting specialist, Icel (power systems and generators) and Thermal Transfer (HVAC engineering and cleanrooms).
