Scheme by architect Hawkins Brown will include more than 600 homes
Newham council in east London has given the green light to developer Linkcity’s plans for the next phase of a mixed-use scheme in Canning Town.
The third phase (pictured) of the scheme called the Hallsville Quarter features 620 new homes – including 50 care homes – along with retail, leisure, offices and an NHS health centre.
This phase was drawn up by Hawkins Brown with planning consultant Montagu Evans.
Phase 1 saw Linkcity – the property arm of French construction giant Bouygues – build 179 homes, including affordable rented and shared ownership plus a basement car park.
Phase 2 is due to be finished this year and includes retail, a hotel and 349 homes. Phase 3 is due to be completed in 2023.
The overall Hallsville Quarter development will eventually feature close to 1,200 homes.
