The 21,000m2 Rotherham College of Art and Technology will feature a host of sustainability features such as solar photovoltaic and solar thermal panels, rainwater recycling systems and a heat recovery ventilation system.
Paul Holden, associate director at Bond Bryan, says: 鈥淭he college is a landmark building within Rotherham, designed to inspire and motivate students and spark the interest of local people and employers in further education, training and skills development.
鈥淭he new-build campus is a distinctive and striking modern design sitting within an enhanced landscaped setting linking to Rotherham's renaissance strategy.鈥
Work on the college is due to start in June 2009, with a second phase beginning in 2011. The project will be completed in 2013.
