The 556-home project will deliver 375 properties for rent in Manchester
The 拢175m redevelopment of Boddingtons Brewery in Manchester has been given the go-ahead by Manchester City Council.
The 556-home mixed-use development, named Old Brewery Gardens, is part of a residential-led regeneration on the site of Boddingtons Brewery, a regional landmark opposite the Manchester Arena.
Prosperity Capital Partners is developing the Assael Architecture-scheme, while a contractor is expected to be appointed in the coming months.
Out of the 556 homes, 375 will be built specifically for rent and the remaining 181 will be available for sale.
The development will also include 40,000ft2 of retail and commercial space.
The scheme features a communal garden which will be used intermittently as an open-air cinema. Other amenities will include a gym, residents鈥 lounges and rooftop terraces.
Work on Old Brewery Gardens is to start on site in the second quarter of next year with the project scheduled to open in 2021.
