Former blacklisting boss Ian Kerr died of natural causes, it was revealed today.

Kerr, who was 70, died of a 鈥渉eart-related matter鈥 on Tuesday according to the Worcester Coroner.

A spokesman for the coroner鈥檚 office said: 鈥淗e died on the 11th. He collapsed and was taken to Alexandra Hospital in Redditch, where he died.鈥

Kerr, who lived in Bromsgrove in the West Midlands, ran the construction industry blacklist exposed in 2009 by the Information Commissioner鈥檚 Office.

好色先生TV revealed Kerr鈥檚 death yesterday, which came just a fortnight after he appeared as a witness before the Parliamentary committee investigating blacklisting, the Scottish Affairs select committee.

Kerr had been set to be a key witness on behalf of more than 80 former workers who are preparing to sue Sir Robert McAlpine in the High Court as part of a major compensation claim mounted by the Blacklist Support Group.

Ian Davidson MP, chairman of the Scottish Affairs Committee, said yesterday: 鈥淲e are glad we gave him the opportunity to come and give his side of the story in evidence to the committee on such a contentious topic as blacklisting.鈥
