The eight shortlisted designers are:

The teams will now be asked to put forward concept designs for the velopark both for the Games and for their legacy, to be assessed in late June.
Velodrome

The velodrome will be procured separately from the velopark, as a design-and-build contract. An ODA spokesperson told 好色先生TV: 鈥淭he design team will draw up plans for the whole velopark, then half the team will be novated across to work with the design-and-build contractor for the velodrome, while the other half will continue work on the legacy mode.鈥

The concept designs will be assessed by a design jury including Olympic cycling champion Chris Hoy, Sir Nicholas Serota, president elect of RIBA Sunand Prasad ODA principal design advisor Ricky Burdett.

ODA chief executive David Higgins said: 鈥淭his shortlist includes some of the world鈥檚 best design teams. With Chris Hoy on the design jury, sport is also right at the heart of the design process.鈥
