Latest foray by Tony Pidgley into London waterside resi market is Foster-designed scheme in Vauxhall
Tony Pidgley, Berkeley Group executive chairman, has made another ambitious foray into the London waterside residential market buying the site for a 27-storey
Fosters-designed scheme in Vauxhall from the Reuben Brothers. Confirming the purchase of the Hampton House site, which was completed last Friday, Pidgley said Berkeley would look to press on with construction of the £100m scheme. The group is now pursuing at least eight Thames-side schemes. Fosters’ plan consists of three buildings of up to 27 floors containing 242 flats and a 167-bed hotel, and gained permission in 2008. Last month Pidgley appointed Rogers, Stirk Harbour & Partners to design a tower for Eastbury house, which sits alongside the Fosters scheme.
