拢250m town centre scheme gets the green light
Architecture practice BDP has won outline planning permission for a 拢250m revamp of Stevenage town centre.
Proposals include shops and restaurants, offices, a public transport interchange, a magistrates鈥 court, a hotel, and up to 120 homes.
The scheme will retain the town鈥檚 historic town square as a gateway to a new 鈥渢own centre quarter鈥.
Cllr Sharon Taylor, leader of Stevenage council, said: 鈥淭he committee鈥檚 decision to grant planning permission for the town centre鈥檚 much-needed redevelopment represents a key milestone in our efforts to secure the investment required from private investors.鈥
