Investors behind Battersea Power Station reveal designs for planned 鈥楳alaysia Square鈥

The Malaysian developers behind Battersea Power Station have unveiled plans for a public square adjoining the south side of the former power station in south London.

Designed by Copenhagen-based practice BIG, Malaysia Square will form an 鈥榰rban canyon鈥 with bridges integrating into the rest of the development.

The public square will link the southern entrance of the restored Grade II* listed Power Station that has been re-imagined by Wilkinson Eyre Architects and the top of the new Electric Boulevard high street that runs between Foster + Partners鈥 鈥楤attersea Roof Gardens鈥 and Gehry Partners鈥 鈥楶rospect Place鈥.

The spaces will be clad with limestone, granite, marble, sandstone, gravel and dolomite striations to reflect the geology of Malaysia that will lead people through the square.

The 拢8bn 42-acre site is one of the largest construction projects in the capital and when complete will deliver 2,400 homes, as well as office, retail and leisure space.
