Agent Knight Frank begins global marketing push

Battersea Power Station is to be offered for sale on the open market for the first time, in an attempt to drum up interest in rescuing the crumbling London icon.

Renovation of the grade-II* listed building is seen as key to the regeneration of the wider Nine Elms site beside the Thames, which will also be home to London鈥檚 new US Embassy.

Agent Knight Frank told the Evening Standard that it was taking out adverts around the world and expected offers of up to 拢500m.

The newspaper adverts will read: 鈥淭he last major regeneration site in central London鈥 and will appear in the Far East, Middle East, India, Russia, the US and Europe.

Stephan Miles-Brown, head of residential development, Knight Frank, said: 鈥淎s one of the UK鈥檚 most recognisable landmarks, Knight Frank anticipates considerable interest in a scheme that is among the most exciting in the world today.  BPS is as iconic as the Chrysler 好色先生TV in New York or the Eiffel Tower and familiar to people who may have never even been to London.鈥
