Housebuilder and Drum Property Group reveal 1,500-home scheme for coastal town of Stonehaven

Barratt East Scotland and Drum Property Group have unveiled plans for a 1,500-home development in Stonehaven, Kincardineshire, according to reports.

The 拢250m scheme is set to include a 59,000ft2 supermarket, hotel and a 25-acre business park business park and will create 1,000 permanent jobs in the coastal town, with a further 275 at construction. It will take 15 years to complete.

Barratt operations director David Scott said the firm was getting ready to launch a public consultation. The supermarket would be the town鈥檚 first and would be built within the first 18 months of the project.

The scheme also includes 拢30m worth of infrastructure, such as improvements to transport links.
