Agreement allows Barratt to build homes on Peel land in the north of England
Housebuilding firm Barratt and developer Peel Group have announced a tie up for housing schemes in the North-east and North-west.
The deal will allow Barratt to build homes on land owned by the developer in those regions.
The agreement covers 80 acres across six sites with the potential for over 1,000 homes to be built over the next five years worth up to 拢200m.
Barratt Homes鈥 Manchester division will soon submit planning applications for schemes in Wigan and south Liverpool totalling almost 500 houses.
The remaining developments are in Greater Manchester, Cheshire and South Yorkshire.
Neil Goodwin, managing director of Barratt Homes Manchester, said: 鈥淭he two companies share a common vision for the revitalisation of our economy and our markets by the provision of much-needed new housing.
鈥淲e hope to be selling from the first two sites in time for spring and summer next year.鈥
