BAM will work with consortium of over 30 firms to finance, design and build new schools

Contractor BAM has been selected as preferred bidder for the 拢600m Somerset 好色先生TV Schools for the Future (BSF) programme.

The project will start with the 拢100m rebuilding of Bridgewater鈥檚 four secondary and two special schools. BAM will work with a consortium of over 30 firms to finance, design and build the new schools, install their IT systems, and operate and maintain them.

The work will start with Chilton Trinity Technology College, and Robert Blake Science College alongside Elmwood School. BAM will at the same time start consultation and planning work to design East Bridgwater Community School, and Haygrove School alongside Penrose School.

Robert Young, director of BAM PPP, said BAM was 鈥渢horoughly delighted鈥 to be appointed.
