Contract seals the deal on delivery of two new schools and the refurbishment and rebuild of a third
BAM has secured a 拢75m deal to provide schools for Camden council.
The contractor will build two new PFI schools and rebuild and refurbishment another.
Facilities management will be provided to the schools by BAM as part of a 25-year concession. RM Education will provide technology services to the schools.
The project has been scaled back after government cuts to the BSF budget. Its value stood at 拢250m in May when BAM was initially appointed preferred bidder.
Camden Council and BAM will form a partnership company to provide:
- A new PFI Academy sponsored by the University College London
- A new PFI special educational needs school for children aged between 3-19 years
- A part new-build/part refurbishment of the existing South Camden Community Secondary School
Bill Harkins, projects director at BAM, said: 鈥淭his has formalised our strong partnership with the London Borough of Camden Council and RM Education and means we can get on with the building of these high profile schools in Camden.鈥
