Scheme set to be benchmark for net zero schools of future
Bam has started work on a 拢30m scheme to build a net zero college in Warwickshire.
The Southam College scheme has been designed to achieve net zero carbon emissions and low energy use meaning it has been handed 鈥榩athfinder鈥 status.
Bam鈥檚 design team is lead architect on the job which also includes passive design, biophilic design, climate resilience and health and wellbeing elements.
Dave Ellis, Bam鈥檚 regional director in the Midlands, said: 鈥淲hat we learn from Southam College will feed into the department鈥檚 wider approach to reducing carbon in the education field.鈥
The college is part of the Stowe Valley Multi Academy Trust with Bam building a range of facilities including science labs, food tech areas, music rooms and a sixth form hub.
