Work including the 拢50m upgrade of Edinburgh Waverley station by 2013
Balfour Beatty has won 拢270m of road and rail work, the firm announced today.
The deal includes a 拢50m contract to upgrade Edinburgh Waverley station, starting this year and due to finish in 2013. The job includes the renovation of the 34,000 sq m glass roof.
It also won another four highways contracts, including the the job to dual the A11 near Thetford, worth 拢106m, and a 拢60m job for structural, re-surfacing and roadworks in the Midlands, in the Highways Agency areas seven and nine.
The remaining jobs are a 拢35m joint venture for the A487 Porthmadog, Minffordd and Tremadog bypass, and two construction management frameworks for Highways Agency area 10, worth 拢20m.
Balfour Beatty chief executive, Ian Tyler, said: " We have successfully completed many other projects for each of these key customers. Our experienced regional teams will build on these strong relationships by successfully delivering the unique requirements of each."
