Second phase of development to include a ‘mansion’
Balfour Beatty has been awarded a fresh £15m contract by Audley Group to deliver the second phase of the Cooper’s Hill retirement village in Surrey.
The UK’s largest contractor is already building 78 luxury retirement homes for phase one (pictured) under a contract worth £38m.
But phase two will see a further 50 homes built within two blocks, a mansion and a crescent.
Audley Group, which develops and runs luxury retirement villages across England, enjoyed a £33m profit from a turnover of £93m in 2017.
Construction on phase one is set to be complete in winter 2019, with the second phase due in summer 2020.
Cooper’s Hill is located at Englefield Green, near Egham, and within the 267,000m2 Magna Carta Park, which was formerly part of Brunel university.
Balfour has to date partnered with Audley on five different sites and on contracts with a collective value in excess of £200m.
