Projects will take place in Hong Kong, Singapore, Macau and China over the next five years

Balfour Beatty has secured around 拢200 million of major new project work in Hong Kong, Singapore, Macau and China. Some of the work will be carried out by Gammon Construction in which Balfour Beatty has a 50% stake.

In Hong Kong, work has started on a 拢33 million project to design and construct four service reservoirs, a link bridge and a range of civil engineering work for The University of Hong Kong in a project due to be completed by September 2009.

In Singapore, Gammon has been awarded the 拢55m contract to deliver the new Chinatown Interchange Station. The project is due for completion in 2013.

In Macau, Gammon has been awarded the contract to construct a retail centre and a 42-storey, 2,000-room hotel tower for Venetian Orient. The project, worth about 拢55m, is due for completion in the summer of next year.

In China, Balfour Beatty Rail has been awarded a 拢35 million contract for the delivery of overhead lines for the new high-speed railway between Wuhan and Guangzhou by the Chinese Ministry of Railways. It will be completed by the end of 2009.
