Steve Morgan takes over from Rob Stewart as capital director at airport operator
BAA has appointed Steve Morgan as its new head of construction and design.
Morgan will oversee the expansion of Heathrow in his role as capital director.
The former commercial director at British Nuclear Fuels will replace Rob Stewart who will now report to Morgan as construction director.
Morgan will lead BAA鈥檚 拢6.6bn investment plan as the capital director overseeing construction and design at seven airports.
In a management shakeup BAA also announced the appointment of John Holland-Kaye as commercial director.
He is currently operations director for the south at Taylor Wimpey and replaces Duncan Garrood who is leaving BAA to become president of Starbucks within the Alshaya retail group.
Colin Matthews, chief executive of BAA, said: 鈥淥ver the next five years, we will invest 拢4bn at Heathrow alone, to completely renovate and modernise the airport鈥檚 facilities. At the same time, the commercial challenge for our business is greater than ever.
"I am therefore pleased to be strengthening the senior team at this time, with two people of the obvious calibre of Steve Morgan and John Holland-Kaye.鈥
The appointments come two weeks after the controversial third runway at Heathrow was given the go ahead.
