Five-year road maintenance contract will start in April next year
Atkins has won a £200m deal to look after Somerset’s roads network.
The firm has been selected preferred contractor by Somerset council for a five-year road maintenance contract.
The job, which is due to start in April next year, includes highway maintenance, road resurfacing, winter service and vehicle maintenance.
Philip Hoare, managing director of Highway Services at Atkins, said: “I am delighted that Somerset council has selected us as preferred bidder. The contract builds on our existing 13-year relationship and will enable us to continue to drive efficiency and service improvement across the county."
