Consultant will work alongside Danish practice C F Moller Architects on the 180m-high scheme
Arup has unveiled plans for a 180m skyscraper in Malmo, Sweden.
Arup is working with Danish practice C F Moller Architects on the scheme, which will include a train station and station square alongside the tower. The tower will house 230 apartments and retail space, and will serve as a landmark for a new development area, Hyllie.
The final details of the proposal will be finalised in the autumn, with construction work expected to start in 2008.
C F Moller partner Lone Wiggers said: 鈥淭he high cubic tower will have white, reflective glass surfaces that interact with the Nordic light and express one visual identity in daylight and another at night. At the same time, we want to use the architecture to emphasize the human-scale.鈥
