Three-year deal being procured by LHC and Southwark council
Architects have been put on notice for a framework worth up to £500m.
The deal, called 1.1, is being brought forward by procurement company LHC and Southwark council and is set to run for the next three years.
In a published to the Official Journal, the joint venture highlighted how much emphasis it would place on bidding firms’ diversity strategies.
It said: "This partnership between LHC and Southwark council seeks to appoint up to 20 of the very best established and emerging, architect practices with diverse leadership and employees.
"We seek practices who live and breathe diversity and inclusion in their organisation, which in turn will influence how they design and deliver their schemes."
The contract notice said applications from qualified practices with diverse leadership, an employee model that represents the diversity of London, and lived experience of disadvantaged communities were being particularly encouraged.
Firms with a background of having overcome adversity or disadvantage either as a result of protected characteristics or another reason, who had success in bringing under-privileged and BAME architects and interns through their business have also been told to apply.
Firms can bid for and be awarded up to three lots. Interested practices have until 21 January next year to register interest.
The framework will run in conjunction with the pair's architect design services framework 1, which was awarded earlier this year.
