Dutch engineering firm's CEO describes purchase of the multinational architect as 'a milestone'
International architectural giant RTKL has been acquired by Dutch Arcadis for an undisclosed sum.
RTKL, which is US-based, has offices in London, Madrid, Shanghai and Tokyo and is a leading player in the UK PFI market. The company, which employs 1050 staff worldwide, had a turnover of $142m (拢70m) in 2006.
Harrie Noy, Arcadis鈥 chief executive officer, said: 鈥淭he merger with RTKL is a milestone for Arcadis鈥his allows us to build a leadership position in the facility segment and to participate more in large private and public sector property investments across the world.鈥
David C Hudson, RTKL president and chief executive officer, said: 鈥淎s large-scale development becomes more complex and more reliant on multi-disciplinary and sustainable approaches, this partnership merges our expertise in the built environment with Arcadis鈥 expertise in front-end environmental services, infrastructure and program management.鈥
