Amec, English Partnerships and Legal & General have won the race to develop a £350m city-centre business quarter in Liverpool.
The consortium, English Cities Fund, beat off competition from a consortium of CTP and Development Securities for the Pall Mall project, which will provide 140,000 m² of space in a mixed-use, but predominantly office-led, scheme.
Regeneration company Liverpool Vision has gained outline planning permission for its masterplan and the landlord, property company Hilstep, is expected to close the agreement over the next month.
It is expected that the quarter will create up to 3000 jobs.
Jim Gill, chief executive of Liverpool Vision, said: "There remains a considerable amount of work before legal arrangements are finalised, development proposals are confirmed and we see work beginning on site."
