Amec Services in £15m oil vessel dispute
Construction company Amec Services is headed for a £15m High Court showdown with two companies in a dispute over an oil vessel.
The action centres around the Bonga floating production storage and offloading vessel, which can store two million barrels of crude oil. Built in Korea, the vessel was taken to Tyneside for its topsides to be installed by Amec.
Amec is suing Heerema Hartlepool and its Dutch parent Heerema Fabrication Group, for the repayment of a total of £15m and interest in a dispute over the final measured work valuation and risk and reward mechanism on the project.
Amec is also suing Heerema for breach of a parent company guarantee.
