Architects beats rivals including Feilden Clegg Bradley and HOK to competition win

Allies and Morrison FCO project

Allies and Morrison has won a competition to design a courtyard pavilion to remodel the courtyard of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in Whitehall, central London.

The architects beat rivals Feilden Clegg Bradley, Fielden Mawson and HOK to the prize, which will see them design a five-storey pavilion in the existing space.

The competition was run by Mace, and consultants on the job include Gleeds, Ramboll Whitbybird, Speirs & Major and Mach Acoustics.

The project will start on site this year, and is anticipated for completion by the end of 2010.
