Support services group scoops 拢40m of utility work on Edinburgh tram project, plus more than 拢80m in other construction contracts
Alfred McAlpine has announced a series of contract wins worth more than 拢120m.
The largest win is a 拢40m contract to divert telecoms, gas, water and electricity services for the Edinburgh tram network. Utility diversion work is scheduled to commence in Spring 2007.
Other work includes a 拢26m contract to build one of the UK's first primary healthcare centres at Aldershot, an 拢18m contract to build a Crowne Plaza Hotel for Ician Developments in the Smithfield area of Manchester and a 拢10m contract awarded by the Welsh Assembly to upgrade the A470 in North Wales.
The Highways Agency has also awarded the company a 拢15m contract, under its M4 Technology Framework contract, to construct message sign bases and communications infrastructure between junctions on the M4.
