The two schemes that have been delayed are a £25m pier, through which passengers embark and disembark, and a £4m aircraft apron, a waiting area for planes. Tenders for the apron project had been agreed and work was due to start at the end of this month.
Martin Perks, a manager at the airport, said the airport pier project would be reviewed in four to six weeks, but it would not be on site in February as planned.
He was unable to say how long the project would be delayed for, but said it would not be cancelled as it was included in the overall strategic building plan. He said none of the other projects would be cancelled, for the same reason.
The shortlist for the second stage of the £25m project was Gleeson, Morrison, Birse, Balfour Beatty, Interserve, Amec, Laing and Alfred McAlpine.
