A2Dominion and St Edward Homes team up on 拢3m development in Stanmore
The first affordable houses being built as part of a 拢3m development in Stanmore, North-west London, have now been completed.
A2Dominion, a not-for-profit housing provider, is providing 200 affordable houses and apartments on the site, with St Edward Homes, a joint venture between Prudential and the Berkeley Group, building over 500 private sale homes.
There will also be 740 parking spaces.
Danny Lynch, A2Dominion鈥檚 development director (London), said: 鈥淭he first 14 houses have now been finished, and these will be available for affordable rent.
鈥淲e anticipate all of the 200 affordable homes will be finished in 2014, with phased completions of new apartments and houses taking place between now and then.鈥
Environmental concerns have been taken into account, with bicycle storage and a car club to be available to residents to help reduce their carbon footprint.
The apartments will all be connected to a centralised heat and power plant to reduce carbon usage.
The Homes & Communities Agency awarded 拢20m grant funding for the building of the affordable homes on the site.
