...whilst Amec snaps up Romanian nuclear specialist
David Wilson Homes has paid £10.5m for 20 acres of land in Telford owned by materials supplier Ennstone.
Ennstone announced the sale today, adding that the deal will only go through if the land is granted planning permission for residential use. The land is part of Ennstone's Doseley site in Telford, occupied by its precast subsidiary.
Ennstone said that the money raised from the sale will be used to reduce the company's debt.
Amec has announced that it has acquired a controlling stake - 50.2% - in Bucharest-based Stevenson & Associates, a civil and mechanical engineering business in the Romanian nuclear sector. The stake cost £52,000. Stevenson's turnover was £207,000 in 2004 and currently has 10 employees.
