Carmody Groarke has designed this 160m long temporary installation for the London Festival of Architecture, which starts next Friday.
The SkyWalk stands 4m tall and will weave through Montague Place behind the British Museum. With structural engineering by Arup Structures, the installation will be set up during July for a period of 72 hours.
Other architects designing temporary structures for the festival include Foster + Partners, Wilkinson Eyre, Tonkin Liu, 6a Architects and Exyzt. Events during the month-long festival will include architect-led cycle tours, boat trips up the Thames and a jelly banquet.
