Fit-out specialists wins contracts for Royal Albert Hall and Donmar Warehouse West End theatre company
Fit-out specialist 8build has won a brace of cultural schemes in London within a month.
The firm won a contract to design and build an entrance foyer at the south end of the Royal Albert Hall, designed by architecture practice Originate. The foyer will include a cafe, bar and box office.
It also won a £3m contract to refurbish off-site rehearsal facilities for Donmar Warehouse West End theatre company in Covent Garden. The 19th-century building will be redeveloped to include rehearsal facilities, a music room, educational space and a rooftop apartment for use by the company.
The wins come off the back of two major cultural contracts to fit out the Titanic visitor attraction at Southampton’s Sea City and the Mary Rose Museum in Portsmouth.
