Raft of firms including Brookfield Multiplex and PLP await outcome of planning meeting tomorrow

City of London planning officers have recommended that Lipton Rogers鈥 replacement scheme for the Pinnacle site - 22 Bishopsgate - should be approved by councillors at a planning meeting tomorrow.

, City of London planners said that while it had received objections - including from Royal Parks and the London boroughs of Tower Hamlets and Islington - they nonetheless believed the scheme 鈥渁ccords with the development plan as a whole鈥 and 鈥渨ould preserve the setting of listed buildings鈥.

The report praises the scheme鈥檚 proposed public gallery on the ground floor, as well as the viewing gallery, bars and restaraunts on the top three floors. The report says: 鈥淭he public realm benefits, most particularly the free public viewing gallery, are critical to the acceptability of this major development.鈥
